With our danish distributor, we had a showroom.

Naming Gida

Why did we name the active speaker system Gida?
It was not just a random name, we came up with. We put our hearts and brains into the naming of Gida.
And the name Gida has a story of its’ own:
Back when the Vikings ruled, there was just one language used in the North – Old Norse.
In many aspects the Old Norse words was very similar to what we speak in the North now a days.
But also a lot of the Old Norse words were lost over the years.
Among these was the word Gida. Gida was an Old Norse word for a warrior, a strong and independent person.
Gida was the word used, when you should describe a true Viking.
And that is exactly what our active speaker system is: a true Viking!
Therefore we present to you: Gida!

Good to know:

With the all new active speaker system from nordic-audio “*Gida” the user does not have to decide for a streaming system for the future, in this way be locked to one system! It will stream from any device on the 2.4 Ghz band and even Bluetooth. We do not think that it’s our business to decide for people what they want.

Easy setup:

First time one unpacks the Gida and plugs it into the AC a voice will ask if one wants to connect directly or connect to a wireless network- connection to network can be done from smart device or computer, it will now say connected to Wi-Fi. From now on the Gida finds the network every time it’s turned on.

-now it’s possible to stream directly from any other device to the speakers, if one wishes multiple speakers in the home- there a variety of 3èd party programs that will make this a easy task.

Connections:

On the back of the speaker there is 2 pcs. Line inputs for example CD-player, Tuner additional there also is a digital Spdif input for direct digital connection from TV or CD output. If one wants more room filling performance a subwoofer output is also supplied. Everything controlled by the supplied remote.

High-end performance:

Designing the Gida was not to maximize profit or make a lineup! We wanted to make the world’s best little monitor, with high-end solutions. The tweeter is an AMT (air-motion-transformer) that is capable of moving 6 times the amount of air than a conventional dome tweeter the sound it much more detail and rich than one I normally used to. The bass/midrange was designed from the ground up only employing the best components ea. Cast frame basket aluminum voice coil frame and cone that has been assembled using heat adhesive glue in order to keep the magnet as cool as possible to avoid power compression.

With the Gida you can replace the entire stereo system- and still connect the other audio equipment.

And stream via. wifi from any device or Bluetooth.

Worlds best tweeter

For the Gida  loudspeaker we could have used a conventional *dome tweeter (*most commonly used type) they are cheap and can play fine- we think they lack resolution and detail. So the choice was made to use a *AMT driver (*Air-Motion-Transformer, invented by Dr. Oscar Heill) a type that is regarded as the best sounding- and due to complex manufacturing often is only seen I real high-end systems.

The AMT uses a folded pleated Mylar Diaphragm of a mere 0.0005” thickness! The voice coil is a serpentine pattern of precision etched aluminum chosen for light weight and high power handling. Unlike a normal piston loudspeaker which excites the air by alternately pushing and pulling the diaphragm, the AMT displaces the air by alternately squeezing and expanding the pleats, moving the air at a very high velocity. Because the moving mass of the AMT is extremely low, and the magnetic structure very powerful, this combination results in extremely high acceleration yielding amazing transients. The AMT’s low mass and high output allow for a unusually high combination of efficiency and bandwidth to be attained in a single loudspeaker.

No other tweeter gives one the feel of sound just coming out of nowhere- once listened to the highs from the Gida there is no way back.
